Fixing A Tranny Knock

Fixing A Tranny Knock
So I have a knocking sound comming from right about where the tourqe converter is. Done it pretty much since I bought the car. It only does it/ or is noticeable when idling/stoped. It drives me nuts hearing it as I am a little ocd and I know somethings wrong and I want it fixed. It also just makes the car sound trashy inside.
I dropped a tranny in an old 4wd Tercel once which was a PITA but actually easyer than I thought. I talked to a mechanic who had a 90 xj6 come in the shop that he had to drop the tranny on and he said it was the hardest thing to do. To me it does not look any tougher than that tercel.
Also need to take into account that people not familiar with jags have a hard time with them. However is there any truth to the difficulty of this? I understand the knocking comes from a loose bolt somewhere but not sure. I will do more research before I tear into anything.
Just wondering if anyone here has done a similar job and how difficult was it? I have access to a large shop with many tools and helping hand.
