Default fuel failure 44

Hi, I'm a new member I bought a 1991 xj40 3.2, 3 weeks ago and it is displaying this message has rough idle, loses power, and cuts out. it also loses fuel pressure. does anyone know what could be causing this.

Thanks Phil63

Hi,

Fault 44 is your Oxygen Sensor, probably needs to be replaced. I have an 89, so someone else may have an additional suggestion for correcting without replacing the sensor. Not too expensive to replace, I've had to do it once about 8 years ago. Check out the info on both of these links, the first is a little more comprehensive for trouble shooting.
