Glove compartment won't lock closed
Do you mean it won't stay shut, or won't lock with the key.
If it won't stay shut, then from experience the tang in the latch has most likely broken.
There is a spring type assembly within, that pushes the tang into position.
In my case, the blob of pot metal holding it broke off. Result, glove box falling open.

before shutting be sure to turn the outside switch to 12 o clock. You may have a sticky switch like mine. I took mine apart and it still won't return to center. If its in center position when you shut it and it still won't close, you need a new assembly.
