Default Instrument panel, no lights

Today I was driving on the high way and right before my exit, the light on the electronic dash went out, the fuel gauges, oil pressure, coolant temp and battery voltage. They all turned off, I can’t seem to find anything on past forums on this and need some assistance. The blinkers and gear indicator have also gone dark. On the right side the dash has been blinking since I got the car and don’t know what it does or its purpose but I do know that it’s extremely annoying, I have checked all the fuses and connections going to the dash underneath, I can only see one set of grounds right above the left side fuse panel. any help would be great concidering almost nothing
on my dash works anymore.

Given the number of electrical gremlins your car is suffering, I'd suspect corrosion or dirt on one or more of your car's main ground studs. A mine of free information on electrical guides and workshop manuals can be found at Jagrepair.com. You don't say what MY your XJ40 is, but the site covers most.

Try removing the dash binnacle and cleaning and replugging the main plug.

@Jack Albert , what he said (above).

I led you to Jagrepair.com where you'll find useful info but you will need to trawl for the pages relevant to your model. I'm aware you're a new member, but some folks in here won't attempt to help unless you specify the model year and engine for your XJ40. I advise you to lock these details into your signature section, then you won't need to keep repeating them when seeking assistance.

It’s a 1988 xj6 I ended up pulling the dash out and apart and in every screen that stopped working had a burn mark where the power is, I figure it’s toast.

Yikes, commiserations Jack,

Perhaps a previous owner used paper clips for those really annoying fuses?
Lousy jokes aside, develop a plan, step through one bit at a time . . . and you will be able to reclaim it.

Cheers and best wishes,

Yep, much sympathy mate. A bumper to bumper overhaul of the electrics will be wise now. Assuming the taillight issue also still exists, the matter is clearly more than poor grounding.

May be considered a stupid question but on these jaguars, does power flow through another colored wire then red?

You need the wiring diagram, there will be one on this site or in the Haynes manual. Your car is an XJ40 btw.
