As far as I am aware of, there is nobody who tried to make a system that could talk to the cars jet. On a Reddit forum ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Jaguar/comm...le_diagnostic/ ) there is somebody asking for a PDU so they can try to copy the system. I am not in contact with them and don't know if they have made any progress. Where are you located if I may ask, I know a few PDU's in the USA if you really need one. I even might be able to make a working set for you but it comes with a price.
Is there somebody who can help me with a known good .iso file of the Ford FDS2000 disc 32 (or 31) ? I downloaded disc 31 from: https://jaguar-x308.hpage.com/ford-f...00-archiv.html but isn't working.
Maybe it is my hardware that is giving me problems but never had problems with Jaguar disks. Trying to help a FDS friend in Germany to get his system running again.

I have a .iso for disc 31 which appears to be OK (it mounts on a virtual CD drive on my laptop and the files look to be navigable in windows explorer) - would you like a copy? My .iso for disc 32 is also corrupt, which makes me suspect I downloaded it from the same location as you!
No problem please try to send me a personal message.

I am building new circuit boards which are a direct replacement for the original board inside the Jaguar PDU (Ford FDS 2000) if the CDrom player fails. No need for any soldering just 2 screws and its is plug and play. The original players are non ATAPI drives as mentioned earlier and fitting a new modern player will not make the system working again. This circuit board makes it possible to fit any ATAPI drive, also giving much higher loading speeds as the original Sony only had 1 speed. So this board can be used as an upgrade as well.
If you are interested please sent me a PM.

So, I'm in the process of getting my PDU up to speed with the help of this really great thread. So I have a question on the PDU battery replacement. I've seen people here suggest the 7.2v battery as a replacement. When I received my unit recently, I pulled what appeared to be a factory battery, it was wrapped in electrical tape, and then another thick layer of protective plastic wrap as well. See pics of what was left over afterward. As you can see this is set up with two nicad batteries in series, with an exra two in parallel for more longevity. So if this is the case, its only a 2.4~2.5v battery. Not sure how you guys got to 7.2v. This of course assumes this is the correct battery, but the connector seems correct and it fits perfectly in the battery compartment, so thoughts here?
I have the FDS2000, the same as your Jaguar PDU, just toke out the battery and what i know is 7,2 Volt/ 4000mAh, no doubt.
It has 2 x 3 Cells in series, 1,2 Volt/ Cell.
I also i'm looking for the CD's and FDS2000 manuals, anybody have a link where i can download these??

Fran,
Ok, are you sure that was the original battery?...I believe the PDU software is on the first page, I've also seen the manuals under a response here on this thread...
It was not the original battery, the previous owner replaced it with this 2 x 3 cell 7,2 Volt one, from what i've saw in the Jaguar training
PDU introduction and PDU module II, there on page 4-2 the battery is made of 6 cells next to each other.
I found this on this forum, perhaps in this thread, i don't know for sure.
Are you sure that the Ford CD's are on this forum, this thread? i only saw Jaguar CD's.

Fran,
Sorry just the Jag , no Ford. So if there are six cells, they could be in series parallel like mine were, so maybe 3.6v?...I'll take a look at that page.
You need 6 cells in series to get 7,2 Volt, not parallel, and of course not bigger then your space can hold.
Some used a battery for RC cars, i think mine lookes like that, longgg ago i used the same battery for my RC cars,
they where Nicad, and now the best alternative are NiMh with more power (mAh).
