Is your battery in good condition ? Because I know that weak battery causes many gremlins like your speedofailure

My knee jerk reaction is that it's a ground issue. However, I would think that these would have been dealt with when switching out the dash clusters. Very strange.

Default flashing dash

Did you find the problem.i just bought a 96 that started doing the same thing.A lot of the ground wires end up under the console and I think that maybe the problem,would just like some feedback before tearing out center console.

@porschefixer, it might be a while before the OP replies he is no longer an active member.

But + points for doing a search and posting into an existing thread.

However there were quite a few changes between 91 and 96, why not try a post over in the X300 section?

Thanks about searching,I do a lot of research before even posting.Shame on me for not reading the year of his vehicle,they really are different platforms.

FWIW the same thing happened to me. A new negative battery terminal and a good brushing of the battery fixed her right up.
