Default no start issue

I am diagnosing a crank, no start issue. The crank sensor checked ok. Fuel pressure checks ok. The injectors are working because I definitely smell fuel, as if it were flooding. I have a weak/no spark. I am ohm'ing the coil which is reading higher than what is the norm....8.9 on the 20k ohm scale, versus 6k ohm, which is what it is suppose to read, plus or minus 10%. Im also getting a .9 ohm reading between the positive and negative coil terminals, where it is suppose to be .5 ohms.

I am getting 12V at the positive coil terminal which tells me the ignition relay and ignition amplifier/module are good. Not to mention the amplifier is about a year old.

Any thoughts?? Im probably going to replace the coil.

No check engine light.

Thanks,

My 2 cents.
Check out the distributor cap and rotor. Rotor is known to fail. Temporary fix is to remove the rotor and apply some grease to the shaft where the rotor goes and see if it fires up.

Ill give it a shot. I'm actually gonna buy a new cap and rotor. I am getting spark to the plugs though so that tells me the rotor is working. Only hope is that the current rotor and cap aren't giving it enough juice to fire the fuel mixture.

Problem solved...

New cap and rotor solved the problem. The terminals inside the cap appeared to be eaten away just a little, probably just enough to increase the clearance between the end of the rotor and the cap terminals.
