Default Posting workshop manuals for reference

Hi

I have a vast collection of Jaguar workshop manuals, I have a number on PDF and have started to place them in online accessible folders.

The first folder I chose was the XJ40, as I have quite a bit and actually enjoyed reading it.

This is just a test, to see how I go about doing this, but if any site admin want to help in making this perpetually available, then please get in touch.

I am trying out MediaFire, the link I copied is https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8c56fvhokwka3/XJ40

Let me know if it works and easy to navigate to get what you need

Great addition to the KB but one suggestion? I see the naming convention of the top level folders are self-explanatory but the subfolders are a bit cryptic - as they are just bulletin numbers.

If possible, it would be good to rename them as to contents or add a key file with the descriptions of each.

Just my 2¢

Larry

I'm glad that many of my TSBs and other files found it's way onto the internet in many peoples listings.

file:///C:/Users/Bob/Downloads/76-64.pdf is actually ME on my hardrive on one of my computers.(Bob/Downloads....)

Keep these files alive so people keep these old cars on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually took my paper copies of some of these documents to a 'copy-store' and converted them to .pdf so I could post them to the interweb.

I have plastic 'tubs' of TSBs on 'paper' that will likely never be seen or converted to .pdf.(sad)

Gus (jagrepair.com) has been at this for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feed back, its all stuff I have collected over the years, some of the content could even come from here. I have so many of these things it seems silly not sharing them. The idea was just get them posted, and sort them out afterwards. My XJS folder is vast and will take some sorting.
Will post these on the correct forum but if anyone needs XJ6 series 1,2 and 3 then feel free to click here https://www.mediafire.com/folder/nwhq86vb9vpcv/xj6

Hi cornishcat,

We would be grateful when you get a chance to repost all those TSBs but separated by appropriate model. I had many of those, but not all of them. I don't mind sorting them if you want to just link to that original folder again.

Thanks!

Don

I went down this same path when I tried to get H2Oboy to upload to TRANSLATOR and then to the 'stickies'.(2010?)

H2Oboy asked how many I had so I told him how many GB of files I had.
He wanted no part of being the 'go-between' of that many files.
TRANSLATOR finally contacted me and setup a 'username/password' so I just posted DIRECT.

GUS also has most of what I have after I left the dealer.

Info collecting is a great hobby and takes up less 'real estate' than normal 'hoarders'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I do also have too many car parts!!)
(call my widow in years to come (hopefully MANY YEARS) for Jaguar parts deals)

The TSB folder Just needs renaming, I am halfway through it although they wont be sorted into models just categories. As the engines are shared throughout the ranges I just collected them in groups for reference.. These should be back on later today.

The biggest obstacle I face is converting hard copy documents to PDF, I had PDF.s I would quite happily sit and upload into the wee small hours. But the prospect of sitting and scanning document after document does not appeal to me. I do have an auto feed tray in the top of my copier but this is just for single sided scanning so its no good for workshop manuals, and single page documents like TSBs have to be scanned and created one at a time.

If anyone has PDF files containing Jaguar information, then PM me and will be happy to take on the challenge to get them uploaded. As for hard copy,,,, these must be saved but I feel in order to do so practically then it is going to require some capital investment as well as time. Lets see what 2023 brings and how much free time I get this year

The Engine Course 168 that is 'floating' around the internet was a paper copy of the training class issue.
I took the 3 ring binder to a 'copy-store' and had them convert it to .pdf. ('burned' to a DVD)

Don't remember the cost ($20-$30?) but I also had the WDS training guide done also.

I also have a CANON copier that can do .pdf but a page-at-a-time is TEDIOUS.

I didnt think that copy services still existed, but a good idea, I will look into it, as my XJ6 Series 3 Manual appears to be incomplete, and my E Type Series 3 manual seems corrupted,

Posted all I can for now, here are the links for all the files I have managed to sort and upload so far

E Type Series 1 and 2 https://www.mediafire.com/folder/txyt1jg819n3m/E_Type

X300 https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ij8eiey6u91n1/X300

XJ40 https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8c56fvhokwka3/XJ40

XJ6 Series 1, 2 and 3 https://www.mediafire.com/folder/nwhq86vb9vpcv/xj6

XJS https://www.mediafire.com/folder/md9lq04beqjo9/XJS

I have a number of disks that contain PDFs but there is no facility to print or download any of them from the CD, I dont have the technical ability to solve that issue but open to suggestions

Thank you for the files you have uploaded thus far. It's always a joy for me to find documents I did not previously have in my library, and you uploaded several TSBs I didn't have.

Regarding the pdf files on CD, I wonder if you could copy the files to a new folder on your computer, then upload them to mediafire?

Cheers,

Don

Hi Cornishcat,
If you mail the CD or copies of them, then I can post them on a site for download. I can also add them to a ChatGPT knowledgebase so everyone can search them. I'm doing this because I am looking for content as I restore my 76 xj6 coupe, and as I use AI for projects. If you send original CDs, I can return them. I'm in the USA, in DC.
