Souce for SACHS Rear Shocks
Hey guys, so I installed new KYB shocks on my 1992 XJ6 but am unsatisfied with the ride quality. It is definitely a bit harsher than stock. I have been reading other posts about SACHS shocks and found a pair for the front but cannot find the rear ones for the life of me. Does anyone have a good source or part number? Thanks in advance!
Rock auto is an easy source for part numbers even if they dont have the part. Napa has a cross reference section in their website, although I have very poor luck trying to locate Jaguar parts from their site- Its as if they are anti- Jag. i also suggest simply googling the KYB number and see if Sachs comes up as an alternate. Sometimes sellers list alternate part numbers...
Checking at Rock auto myself, they do list the Sachs rears, but are out of stock there. They show the part number for rears as 170122. Fronts are 170121.
Good luck.

Hi ETA,
Rock Auto has a Notify Me When Available feature that has worked for me a few times on items that were out of stock when I first searched for them.
Probably the next best thing to Boge/Sachs would be Bilstein B4s, but when I put them on one of my XJ40s I thought they were a bit too firm. The B6 sport version would definitely be too firm.
Some XJ40 owners have been pleased with Monroe shocks, but I've never tried them myself.
Cheers,
Don
