Its about that time I think Scott.

Some will agree, some won't , but it is what it is.

I hope you enjoy the fact you own a classic Jaguar

I guess since the last XJ40 is now 20 years old your model warrants classic status, at least here.

As time passes and my affinity for the brand grows, I see the XJ40 as a very desirable car indeed.

Cheers, Jim. No argument from me! My '91 has got collector plates on it and is treated like a weekender anyway. It's interesting to watch the XJ40 begin (here, in Jaguar World Magazine, and other places) to get the recognition that is probably overdue as a unique, evolutionary vehicle for Jaguar that turned out, besides the early electrics and notorious weak points (that all cars are going to have), to be a mechanical and engineering masterpiece. Classic indeed!

I believe so Scott, and think that most will agree. Some will not of course, but we will never be able to please everyone all of the time.

We've tried and failed...lol

Took me awhile to figure out what had happened - you guys are way ahead of me.

In Tennessee, a car has to be 25 years old to register as a classic. Four more years to go for our '93.

I guess in this era of Internet & Bluetooth connectivity and cars that will not only park but practically drive themselves, an XJ40 could seem "classic," but compared to even a Series III an XJ40 is a very modern car that leaves little to be desired as far as I'm concerned.

Congratulations to us all, I guess!

Don

Most car shows in NV are 25 years and you can register it in the show...

hahaha yep we got moved....
took me a couple of tries before I realized I was infact going into the right catagory but we were not there.... then saw classic.
I have no objection.... they really are classic cars

I also believe that a car needs to be 25 yrs before it is considered classic here in Oz
