Those Bussman fuse-relay boxes are really nice. I looked at using one in my TR6 but settled on a smaller one from an old Aspencade.
The Bussman is nice and weatherproof. What exactly are the bulkhead fittings there?
I covered the firewall and complete underside of my 71 corvette with Zero Clearance Heat Shield, actually I sprayed it first with ceramic heat shield then put the zero clearance on.

The Bulkhead fittings are for the I/O into my Megasquirt Being able to break the Harness there is very handy when changes need to be made. On my last car I planned poorly and every time I added or changed something it took way to much effort to fix, this time I am over compensating!

Hi Rusty,

We seem to be on the same wavelength, recently had a herniated disc which had surgery for, and now have an XJC (Daimler) and with my son, am trying to fit an XJR motor into.
Question as you seem to be a few steps ahead of us, which engine mounts did you use in the XJC to fit the XJR motor.

Cheers,
Martin.

Hello!
Very nice to hear from you! I Used engine mounts from a 1993 XJS they bolt to the sub-frame and position the engine perfectly completely bolt on!
Check out posts by icsamerica he has helped me immensely! Post some pics I'd love to see what you are working with!

Feel Better!

When I purchased My car I planned on figuring a way to utilize Asteroid wheels on it. I have 5 refinished wheels an two bent sacrificial examples.
After some struggling I decided on the simplest approach. hopefully the pictures below explain the process.

So how did you keep the outer saw from eating up the larger diameter hole in the wheel? I may be missing something...

I like those wheels, reminiscent of minilites.

In this process the inner hole saw acts as a pilot. The outer saw is the size hole I needed. Whomever invented it is a genius!

No, I just needed proof of concept so I could move forward. I was thinking about trying to modify the Hub. I learned not to jump the gun when its time for tires I'll do the real rims. The one in the pictures was a sacrificial bent one.

You are building the ideal modernized XJC of my dreams. Not having the depth of experience or the space to take on a project of this magnitude, I will be watching your progress; maybe as a tutorial.
So, a question. I saw on eBay a few years back an XJC with X300 bumpers instead of the 70’ diving boards. Is that a more straightforward swap than retro fitting Ser. II Euro bumpers? And do you want to sell the set with hardware off the XKR?

Thank you for the good tidings! I think the Car you are referring to is the one pictured below. I have since sold off my parts car xjr so those bumpers are long gone.
If you search around on the forum you will find a few examples of where people have reduced the surf board by compressing the bumper shocks.
That's what I was going to do before I found my euro set.

Good Luck.

Rusty

Hello! My project has taken a 90 degree turn! One of the forum members has corrupted me into going modern with a V12 with 6sp.
I have high hopes and a lust for a V12. So I put my super rare AJ16s with 5 Speed Getrag 290 up for sale!

It could be the best or worst Idea I've ever had time will tell..............You can see it here: AJ16s Getrag 290 5 speed.

Wow Rusty, i thought your XJ-C was about ready to drive, and now a V12, Aston Martin i saw in your advert. An Aj16 fits perfect in the Jag, i have also swapped my engine of my `77 S2 jaguar XJ but with an AJ6 4.0 engine from a XJ40, almost the same. I also used XJ-S engine mounts and it al fits perfect. Only the trans mount needs some rebuilding, i used the electronic ZF auto.
Your V12 will need more attention on mounting, but i believe it is a pretty compact engine so it has to fit. Wich steering gear do you use, since a S2 steering rack cannot handle the high pressure of the modern steering pumps.
I sure am going to follow your progress, i`ve seen the foto`s of the front suspension and the AJ16 engine, they look far better then new. I `m sure you `ll make the whole car better than new. I would like to come and have a look or even assist with this fantastic project, but 12000 km is a bit to far away.....

My whole reason for doing my XJC was to have a V12! Going to run a 1976 flat head on an Electromotive ECU and Getrag 5-spd. There is something about the smooth torque of the V12. I am also going to figure out how to integrate a Series 1 dash into her to get that more classic Jag feel inside.

Preaching to the choir here! I am on purpose not thinking about the interior yet. But I was kinda thinking the same thing

Sooo, I feel Bad i have not kept this up to date...... I will make an effort soon to tell the the story however I will supply short list.

1. Back surgery (good Now)
2. Complete Change of direction in Running Gear.
3. I am in the Process of building my retirement house.
4. In the pictures attached the Engine and 6 speed manual are in, drive shaft is done exhaust is done. I am now into the Haltech (and I'm a little intimidated by it)
