Default 1987 XJ6 VP questions

looking at a well maintained low mileage XJ6. I am an old Mercedes guy so know little about Jags and would appreciate any pros and cons on this car and what to look for. He is asking over $6000 which seems very high to me, Mileage is at 50,000K or so. This is a well maintained car , and on the surface looks really nice
Does this use a bosh fuel injection system or a system similar to the Kjet or Djet?
Any info you can shed or point me to would be great
Thanks from a Newbie

Since you're in the USA i'll assume this is an '87 Series III with a 4.2 engine.

Great cars.

L-Jetronic F.I.

Go to the quick link at the top of the page and you'll find a buyer's guide.

$6000 might be a bargain or might be way too much. If it has good paint and leather you're thousands of dollars ahead of the game right there

Welcome to the forum MBman, as Doug says check out the buyers guide in the FAQ at the top of this forum.

If you can't download it directly (New Member permissions, which you can read about by following the link in my signature), then you could also grab it from my MediaFire account here:

Buyer's Guide.

Look forward to seeing you around.

IMHO, $6000 is not too much for an *immaculate* Series III. Additionally, it's the upper line VDP and last model year the Series III was sold in the USA.

If you can get it for less, all the better :-)
