Talking 4 On The Floor!

After weeks of Critical Boredom, during which time I have spent untolled hours in/around/under Nix, she's finally been let down from her lofty perch and rejoin the family, the human race and Racing in general; on time and under budget.

We're promised a week of clear weather and she and I are taking full advantage of it!

Having just spent several hours cleaning her up to be presentable, there won't be any details of the winter's work tonight. I'll get to that later. Right now, I'm wrapping myself around a Positively Wicked Margarita.

See y'all later........

Nix . . . we know and love. Wow, she looks beautiful . . .
But who's Marguerita . . ?
I'll ponder this over a glass of shiraz.

PS . . . Elinor; how do you keep your workshop so clean and tidy?
I'm sure "panache" is involved, but it does you credit.

Cheers,

Ken

Oh! Right! 4 WHEELS on the floor! Sorry. It's been a big day, & I'm a little slow (snafu!)
PS Nice cat. Time to prowl?

hi!
looks wonderful, but please remove those ugly round things from the grille! Thanks!
been there, done that.

Besides, they do affect cooling. They are an international conspiracy to ruin your water pump, radiator, thermostat and to create rust so to keep the parts suppliers in business.

from the positive comments dept.: It is refreshing to see the original small outer headlamps instead of those ugly 7" inchers which make these cars look "old".

a picture of the tank-drain panel plugs would also be interesting to see.

Margarita. Espanol for Margaret. And, an adult beverage of the highest order. Icy cold Martini type glass. Roll the rim in bar salt. Fill to almost the to with Jose Cuervo or the like tequila. A dash of sec. A twist of lime for looks. Sip carefully. No more than one if you wish to drive safely.

Yes, Elinor, NIX looks pleased and ready to go.....

Default Thanks, Guys,

Thanks, Guys,

Ken:
We got some Aussie Sparkling Sharaz once, after trying one bottle we bought the whole case! But alas, that was several years ago and it's long gone.

The shop looks neat because that's Nix's stall, and therefore is off limits to "normal" shop stuff unless she's being worked on. Other stalls aren't so tidy.

scatcat:
GEEZE! Those guys are OLD!
I wonder if they know just how foolish they look!

Prowling will begin this very evening!

Clarke:
Thanks. How's Fireball doing? We haven't heard much about her lately.

Jimbo:
Thank you. She should look proper I think, until challenged by some punk ricer. At that point, "Proper" is open to interpretation.

Jose:
LOL @ International conspiracy!
I am a bit uncomfortable about the lower badge (our Jag club badge), but the white badge stays. It's the last remnant of husband's old sports car club of which he was president at one time before I came here.

I don't like the 7" outer headlights. I think they make the car look all googlie-eyed. I know a lot of people feel they're Just The Thing, and that's fine for them, it's their car. But I won't be putting them on Nix.

Carl:
She is pleased, Carl, and anxious to get out into the Real World.
As the ground is still damp from all the rain, and we're had hard freezes every night, there's little dust and NO BUGS to sully her finish.

HMMMM, I've got all or most of the stuff to swap in 7's on the outboard of my car. Got side tracked on other stuff. They might just remain on the side track. It has lights, they work, at least most of the time. and when they don't I've an easy fix, so....

Working off bad cold. In spite of my "no's" daughter is coming over with lunch....
Kinda stubborn. Wonder where that came from????

Yeah, they ain't the prettiest, anymore. It's not the best version of that song either, which I absolutely love on Beggar's Banquet. But there was no vision for the album track, which would have been preferable to those tired old Hacks flogging the poor old tune to death. I don't know why they do it either. They can't need the money. & it's got to be a lot of hard work. If it was me I'd be on my private island in the Caribbean (they've all got one!) & enjoy my senior years unscrutinised. What beats me the most though is how they keep pulling a crowd. Believe me, no one was a bigger Stones fan than me from 1964-1980. But apart from the odd catchy tune they haven't put out anything I'd buy for at least 35 years, & they haven't toured a show I'd pay to see for at least the last 30 years. So who watches this stuff?

4 are still on the floor, but that seems to be temporary.

I fired her up this afternoon to get ready for some fun this evening, and there was a strange noise coming from under the hood that sounded like bolts tumbling in a can.

Water pump. Aw Dang!!

Sigh.......

Well, Spring work has started and I have a lot of catching up to do, so I won't get to it until Friday at the earliest; maybe not until sometime next week.

Dang!

And just when I was getting to be able to laugh about it, (no good deed goes unpunished) husband came into my room carrying a large white box emblazoned with the scrawl, well, see for yourself;

And then he said, "Now you have no excuse not to get to work on it. If you hurry you can have it done by morning."

He's so Mean!!

Addiction to public adulation.

They were my parents' favorites, a bit before my time although I do know who they are (I suppose Everyone does).

Hey LnrB Nix looks great!

Nix has the black i wanted on my car and the paint looks as good as new.

Too bad on the waterpump, but at least its a sbc so you won't be needing to tear the radiator, timing chain, accessories, and a wheel well out of the car to get to it. Had to do that for a mazda once

I'm of the age to have been a fan since their inception. But I've always been very eclectic in my musical tastes & I like everything from Mozart through to Skip Hop (Aussie Hip-Hop), & most things in-between.

Everything working as it should and she is being used most days unless I ride. Not hearing much means nothing needs attention.
Got some nice shots with Paulyling (new Qld coordinator a couple of weeks back)

Got to admit I did put 8 hours into detailing the outside of her a couple of days before I drove to the Sunshine Coast to visit him.

Jaguars, music and margaritas. Perfect trio.

But, music to me is sans odd costumes, smoke, flashing lights, acrobatics. Just lyrics I can understand and the sound of the instruments properly played.

That makes me an antique, I suspect....

But, there are times when that forward hinged bonnet is a hindrance???

Wow . . . that's one brave hubby! BTW, Elinor, saw a very classy '64 Jaguar MkX in your same gloss black on offer down here. Great colour. Of course, the Queen of England would settle for nothing less. Why should you?

PS . . . yep, margaritas I understand, though a good bitey whiskey sour is more my style . . . until aforesaid Oz Shiraz tempts me away.

Cheers,

Ken
