1977 XJ12 Chevy 350 Air conditioning evaporator removal
By the process of elimination, no other leak was seen, it was concluded that my evaporator is leaking. This will necessitate the removal of the dash. I have a Haynes manual that does not give adequate information. Is there a resource out there that can help me?
I tried this once on a junker we were stripping in a wrecking yard as I wanted the whole climate control system and all its bits, but with the windshield in place and the Gunk filling the screw heads I wasn't able to free the thing from the body. (I did manage to get everything else) However, other members have been successful.
I have the factory ROM (The Blue Book) with "complete" directions how to do this, I'll get it later today and tell you what it says.

I have taken a photo of the relevant page in the manual. I've sharpened up the image so you might be able to read it more easily. You should also be able to enlarge them a bit for better view.
Below are photos of the sections mentioned above but not necessarily in the right order.
If I've missed one, just ask and I'll upload more.

Reason: Added Photos
I was able to print them. I have an Epson printer with the Eco tanks( No cartridges) So ink is not a problem.
Really appreciate this information, I stopped driving the car in the summertime which is really sad. With this information I should be able to tackle this job.
I have a screwdriver that the bits attach magnetically. If you're having trouble With Gunk filling the screw heads You can pound the bits into the screw head first then attach the bit to the screwdriver and you should be good.
I'm glad you can use the photos. If you need others, just ask and I'll upload them.
At the time the car I was working on was in a wrecking yard and we had to pack in tools we needed and pack out the parts we bought. I was unable to access those screws mainly because the windshield was in the way so I had no vertical room to work.
No matter now, that was Years ago. We worked on it from early October when it arrived at the yard, for about 2 months when it went to the crusher. The Yard Crew was nice enough to warn us ahead of time though, and I got everything I wanted (and some things I took just cuz I was there) so it all worked out well in the end. Numerous parts of that car live on in Nix.
