Hello ladies and gents
Just need a bit of advice I have a series 2 which I'm just trying to get back on the road and past it's inspection however it has a autolita boss kit fitted and I can't get the horn to work if I remove the centre pin on the steering column beeps how can j wire my horn into the button provided with the boss kit?

I should know, I have done my Jaguars the same way but in the XJ I think the horn push needs to make contact with the brass center contact of the cream-color plastic "nut" shown in the picture.
The "v" shaped tension spring shown on the side of the horn push assembly should be the ground for the circuit, but if the hub is not electrically-conductive, that could be the problem, assuming the center of the horn push button is making contact at the center.
I cannot remember what I did with my Momo, but I might have soldered a wire to the leg of the "v" spring.
Try touching a wire to the "v" spring and tousching the other end to the steering wheel steel nut under the plastic "nut", then push the button to see if it works.
also, do not overtighten the cream-colored plastic nut, it can break and then you will have a major problem trying to remove the broken piece. Just "snug" it.
