Automatic enrichment device
Hi everyone
I have a question regarding the Automatic Enrichment Device in my XJ6 series II from 1977. Where should the overflow pipe be connected? Is it to the two inner side connections on the stromberg carbs you may see on the attached picture or is it to somewhere else?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Best regards!
Martin

Simple solution is a pair of HS8's,with no AED and then tune them.(but I am biased)

Thanks for quick answer. I may consider that as an alternative
As I have now written in the new member area this is my first ever Jaguar and I am really a newbie. The history is that it didn't pass the MOT due to high CO-level and after I checked compression and fixed the timing it was time for some mixture adjustment. It seems however like it is SU and not stromberg which my swedish manual says... However now the combustion flame looks blue instead of yellow as before but I still not sure if I have connected the AED correct
Best Regards!

Hi, you have SU HIF7's and the AED overflow just goes down with a 1 meter long hose and ends besides the oil filter just letting out on the ground. Be sure the pipe that goes round on the back of the engine from the exhaust is connected underneath the AED. It's the hot air from the exhaust that turns the AED off when engine warms up. After cold start you should hear the engine calm down from 1000 rpm to 750-ish after a 5-10 min, then you know the AED works.
