Wanted to share with the forum a modification I recently made to the AC system of my 1974 XJ12. I replaced the stock electric fan with a 10” S-blade fan, Spal #30100435.

This fan fits essentially perfectly within the stock shroud (after you cut off one set of mounting ears. I used the stud mounts of the fan, adding 1/4” bolts and drilling holes through the stock shroud to secure (sorry no pics). I only used two bolts to make install easier and added a strip of weather stripping to increase seal. I cut off the stock wiring connectors and added spade connectors for the Spal fan. I don’t know stock fans rating but it has to be less than this fans rating of 800 CFM.
