Default battery light

Sorry for not being on here lately, been super busy.
My battery light has came on, bur what I think is strange is that it gets brighter as I go. I am going to try and get it tested today but I'm so busy that I might not make it.
Like I said it gets brighter as I go and the more things I turn on the brighter it gets. It even stayed on once after I turned the car off and removed the key.
Does this mean that it's overcharging? Bad battery? Thought I'd ask here first.

are you referring to the Warning light between the two large gauges with a battery symbol?

that could be a warning about the Alternator.

Yes that light. That's what I'm thinking.

Almost certainly a diode failure inside the alternator
