Default bit the bullet!

I have bitten the bullet and dropped car off at a local transmission shop, I tried staking the rivets on the flexplate, but all that seemed to do was make me sore!!!

$400 to r and r trans, replace with my new/used flexplate from Mr. Boger and check out everything in that area!

Money well spent for me not to have to do it!!!

Sometimes it makes more sense to part with a few dollars rather than struggle with a job or do damage to yourself or your car.
Money well spent for sure.

Laying on my back under car on ramps is ok for an oil change or something simple! but too many things on me creak to be doing it myself! lol

Yep, back still aching from trimming a hedge from a ladder bending over
to get the middle. Years ago I could have swung from a rope doing it.

I find myself in a similar situation. If something looks like being heavy or really best done on a hoist then off it goes. Being upside down under the dash is also a definite no go area these days. I stick the basic stuff that can be done in place. Having said all that I still manage to bang up my ribs a while ago doing something apparently innocent under my truck, and thats taken a couple of weeks to recover. May have to relegate myself to washing and polishing to limit the self harm.

I dont complain about being old, as I seem to have known more people than I should that never got the privilege. Does frustrate me at times though and really I am just at the stage where you start to notice. As Mr Eastwood said, a mans gotta know his limitations ... unless he's Chuck Norris.

I suspect you are Sunchip. I wonder who is the oldest active member? Probably a comment on Jaguars longevity and ability to stay current up to today.

You may be the youngest. My daughter was born in 96".
I have been labelled young here by some, (DOB: 1968).
Some here have been driving nothing but Jags since before I was born. (Grant Francis)

I might qualify on one level. DOB: 9-28-1929

Although I started messing with greasy critters in 1946, my first and only Jaguar came in 2001!

Default i now see why $400

You get what you pay for! mechanically the trans shop did great, however, professional they were not!! got car back yesterday, found dirty greasy rag on passenger side floor, and car just seemed really dirty on the outside too! took car home and got closer look, it seems they double stack the cars at night, one on the lift raised and one under it, apparently they put mine under a car that had a major oil leak!!!

Wont be going back there!!!!!
