I had a OEM Black on Black 1984 Series 3 back in 2013. After restoration I sold it, not knowing the rarity of that color combination.
Doug made me aware of that after I had sold it. Can't go back in time though.

Thanks. That’s very interesting. My wife says mine looks like a hearse!

Your wife is pretty close with that assessment. A number of years ago I was interested in an original, one owner Mk 2 - very unusual because the colour / trim combination was (again) a special order black on black. The owner? A funeral director! (I am not inventing this). In the end we could not come to an agreement. Now I have much more cheerful Pale Primrose over Black leather Mk 2.

Yeah. That’s a story I’m not going to share with my wife. I’m in enough trouble already!

Very nice looking S3 Gismo.

I wasn't sure I wanted to go that route ether having the windows blacked out taking away from the original look. But in our 40c + summers I had to try something and went with the lightest possible tint I could get (20%), this blocks out 80% of external light and heat. The numbers work backwards for window tinting. Best $300 I ever spent.

Below is a pic of S1's with and without tint. For what it saves in summer heat in the cabin I can live with the slightly darker windows.

Thanks Clarke that’s very thoughtful. Beautiful cars by the way. It looks fine on your car. And there’s no denying the practicality of it. But with a black car I worry it’s going to look even more limousine-ish than it already does. I don’t have to decide really until next summer I guess. And of course it’s easily reversible.
