Damned pavered roads!!
Ok, so I normally drive a van for work and in winter park Florida where I do. Most of my work, it is cobbled pavers! Totally brutal on Everton the van! Stuff bounces off shelves etc, the ladder racks make a God awful racket! Think I have even chipped a tooth ! Lol anyways…….. work van went belly up on Monday, it’s a ford and the ( plastic)intake manifold cracked and leaked all coolant out.
Probably asking yourselves what that has to do with Jaguars??? Well, being as van is down I have been driving the jag all week! It’s a thing of beauty over this damned bricks!!! It’s silent, just eats em up!
or so I thought, got home tonight and went to close windows and passenger window would only go up about 4 inches then stop dead! Upon closer inspection it seems the window is no longer in the front track!
Off comes the door card, and out with the speaker and door handle! Well damn! The bottom half of the window channel is just laying in bottom of door, along with the nut and spacer!!! Luckily it was a simple fix, this time with some thread locker on the nut!!! Supposed to get van back Monday, which is a good thing, only so many things you can do with a screwdriver, a drill and a pure of wire cutters! Lol, that’s all
the tools I had in the jag, probably should have grabbed more out of the van before it was towed away!!!

We have a long stretch of road in Fort Worth made of brick. It's awful in any vehicle. I always wondered why the City didn't repave it with asphalt or concrete. I was at a city public meeting when I heard the answer from one of the locals. Businesses along it wanted the bricks to remain, not for any historic or nostalgia purposes, but rather because it slows the traffic down to a crawl so that drivers have time to look around and read their signs.

Life with old cars

I'm just the opposite of you. I use my truck absolutely as seldom as possible. My Jag is my daily driver. I'll admit that a 37 year old V12 Jag isn't the most practical choice for a DD. But, for me, it's the only choice

Cheers
DD
