Default Door-to-window seal replacement

Hi all

The door-to-window rubber seals on my car have shrunk and are not sealing against the glass anymore.

Has anyone ever replaced these things? How does one go about it?

Many thanks

I replaced the one on my driver's door recently. It was dry and cracked. I bought the replacement from rockauto:

https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...789&cc=1178074

It says you need 2 per door, but that's incorrect. I purchased two and one is long enough to do a single door, front or back.

I took the door card off, put the window down, then used needle nose pliers to slide and pull the old strip/beltline out. The lower edge of this beltline has a channel that holds it in place. Then I sprayed some silicone spray on the new strip and slid it into place. Little tedious, but didn't take long.

Brilliant! Thanks for the response.

What are you referring to when you mention the "door card" I've never heard that one before.

Thanks again.

door cards = the upholstery panels which cover or "finish" the interior side of the doors.

Exactly, thanks. I've heard them called door cards, inner door panels. Jaguar's official name is door casing, item 3 in the photo.

The rubber/felt strip that rubs against the outside of the window is item 5, Door Waist Seal, part BD464586. I was happy with the URO part I received from Rockauto.

for some reason that door panel does not look like an XJ panel.
