Double Take
Yesterday I had to take my Black car shopping (darn) because the appliance vehicle I would normally drive has a blown transmission. (Long story in another section)
Anyway, in preparation for the Show on Saturday I had her all polished up and gleaming in Fine Fashion with nary a smudge or speck of dust.
I was just making my way back to the car, which I had parked in a spot safe from door dings from less-than-perceptive passengers, in the shade of a large tree and sort of behind some bushes. There was a high stone wall on one side of a sidewalk, shading it, and then the curbs for nose-in parking on the other side.
An elderly couple walked toward me, past the bushes that were sort of hiding my car, which was also a bit in the shadows. As they passed, the woman casually glanced at my car, looked away and walked on. Then she stopped in her tracks, whirled around, did a double take and a good, long look at that shiny black car lying in wait next to the sidewalk.
It was Great I tell ya!
