hello, can anyone please tell me where the Flasher Relay is on a 1989 XJ6, i can hear it but cant find it, or how to get to it. Thanks
If the car is a Series 3 XJ6/12, I think it's still that car in '89 rather than the next platform, it's on the panel next to the under dash fuses, driver side.
I think you can get to it thru the fuse access opening and can avoid the bother of pulling the under dash panel. Does that help?
I attached a picture from the S57 manual in the next that shows where.

Boy, i really messed that up. Is there someone who can delete all the garbage from when I tried to past a picture?
Never mind, I found I can edit the post within 24 hours. All is well. Sorry for the trouble.

If your car is a 1989 model XJ6, it is NOT a Series III car, and no reference to the Series III car will be of any help to you. Your question should go to the next generation XJ40 list (yes, the badging on your car may say “XJ6” but your car is known by the factory code: XJ40.Originally Posted by Charlroi19

Sorry for the confusion. I think at one time I saw a timeline for manufacturing date ranges for these cars, perhaps with VIN reference as well. There must be a character in the VIN that designates the series type. I recall that the Series 3 XJ6 was sold parallel with the XJ40 as late as 1992, but I may be wrong. The XJ40 was first manufactured in 1987 as I recall. I've been told that some regard the XJ40 series was the last and best all-Jaguar sedan insofar as the succeeding X300 series (I have a X305, XJ12, a great car) was under Ford ownership.

Not quite. When the Series III XJ6 went out of production (by 1987), the Series III V12 cars were still being manufactured for sale in several markets: the UK, Japan, Canada, Germany…some of these were the Jaguar Sovereign V12, some were the Daimler Double Sixes, and for Canada, the Jaguar V12 Vanden Plas, which was essentially a Jaguar-badged Double Six.Originally Posted by nileseh

but note that these were all V12 cars, not XJ6 models.

A Series III XJ6 will have a VIN ranging from 300001 to 477823. (The Series III V12 cars went to VIN 486xxx)
The 'XJ40' models had a VIN sequence starting with 500515
The 'X300' models had a VIN sequence starting with 720001
Cheers
