Default Mixed up left and right lower wish bones- WHOOPS!

Hi all,

I'm going through rebuild of the front suspension on the 1980 XJ6, but I've mixed up which is the left and right wish bone.
I referenced some photos and I think the ball joint mount bends towards the front of the car. Is that right?

Cheers!
H

Note the bend in arm where the ball joint attaches.

In the photo the wishbone is upside down, as the spring pann fixing threaded holes are on top.
Assuming you have not chnaged the position of the anti roll bar casting, this must point forward. Therefore in the photo the wishbone is the right hand side one.

They point forward to allow more or a better caster angle. I went through this agony. Series I & early series II were straight out.

Will the series 3 lowers fit onto the early series 2 knuckles as a bolt on?

I believe the later lower arms bolt on to earlier models. BUT, you need to check this one with some EXPERTS.

Called the "upright" or vertical link in the old country, this part, number 12?

Answer, yes it will phyisically fit, but the geometry was different in the SIII, so I think it would be best to replace the upright and the steering arms from the donor car as well as the wishbone.
