Fun to watch all the dated bits, notions and language.

The very end was brutal when they showed a Series III XJ being scrapped. Great share.

Very interesting. And very sad at the end. Let's all do our part to keep these beautiful cars out of the crusher!

Huge 10-4 on that. If I had the means I would start a Jaguar farm where I'd buy older models and revive them to sell to good homes.

Even if that means sticking a Chevy drive train in!

It was a Series I. External door handles, divided front window and from the soon deceased interior camera the row of center circular gauges the Series I had fitted were visible...

Talking about crushing old Jags or preventing it, I've been waiting months now for what appears to be a really nice survivor series 3 to come up for auction near me but it's still not up yet !! Ahhhggg ! Or whatever Charlie Brown says after missing the football. This company ( Copart ) does mainly insurance wrecks but also does a fair number of donated vehicles too. Below is a link to yet another possible bargain for someone but it's on the wrong coast yet again. I've seen a large number of vintage Jags up for auction recently even E types etc. To those complaining about "lumpers" not preserving / restoring them back to original, here you go -- buy these and keep them from being scrapped. I only have objections if someone wants to take a pristine, all original still working great, low mileage example and modify it into a stripped down drift / dragster etc. It's their car but please pick one that already has problems with whatever is being replaced / changed instead. Would be like hot rodding a perfect original 30's Ford instead of buying all the new made parts and doing a purpose build one. Just my option.

PS I'm gunning for the XJ6 in SC, so fair warning if you bid against me, it will be high $$$ ! Not to be bid rigging, but please don't !! Already lost the other nice one I found on the east coast last year to a specialty car dealer with more money than I had at the time.

Cheers,
Brian

Make that just COOL old cars, thank you very much!

Really though, just replaced a bad injector on my Aunt's Buick 3.6 V6 with direct injection --- TOTAL pita !! The injectors, wiring, and high pressure (200-2000psi) fuel rail are all packed into a crevasse between the heads covered with foam & fiber sound insulation ( to adsorb as much gas as possible before exploding ! ) and under the intake manifold too - which has to be removed even to change spark plugs-- joy. It's like one of those metal art puzzle things you get for Christmas that have to be twisted and flipped in 8 directions at once to take apart.

I'll take an old XJ with a XK any day of the week ! At least you can see the offending part most of the time ( and luckily I enjoy electrical troubleshooting, I picked the right cars for that !! ) .

They are just cars, but at least they are reasonably priced right now, my brother-in-law ( building contractor ) just paid 60k for a used pickup truck ! It's nice but not that nice, at least to me.
To each their own !

Cheers,
Brian
