Default Say Hi to my XJ6C

Hi, Just joined the forum with my 2002 XJ8 SE but thought I would introduce my 1978 XJC 4.2 too. Bought as a runner a couple of years ago it got new cills and wheel arches and a bare metal respray. Just needing some time to re-trim the interior.
I'll post some photos once I find out how to do it.

Well I would if I could see it.

PS, who did you use for the sills?

I had an XJ6C back in the day, but its looks were so badly spoiled by the North American Mkt, crash bumpers Jag gave it that I finally got rid of it.

Do the European XJ6Cs have regular bumpers and will they retrofit to American models?

Sorry for the delay in posting pics, they are all ready to go but no permission to upload - if anyone's listening, please? Not enough posts yet I believe but I'll try to remedy that.
The work was completed by McMillan Jaguar in Motherwell, who I have also bought cars from. Good work but very busy therefore prioritises workload, so the Daimler was there for a loooooong time! It's now in France waiting for me to get time to go over and complete the work. I have stripped a Slll saloon and another Coupe so I should be able to get this one back together easily enough.

Default Photos of my coupe - hopefully!

Okay, a few photographs - it will be a while until it is on the road but it's still lovely just looking at it.

Very nice indeed.

The stonework looks familiar, is it anywhere near me (dept22)

A bit further west but well spotted, south of Morlaix just outside Plougonven. Côte-d'Armor yourself?

tarhealcracker, the European cars didn't need the big rubber bumpers at that time - the States were far in advance of the rest of the world then. What a mess it made of it's looks although I haven't seen a Sll coupe with the rubbers on. Please don't show me one!

Pontrieux, you are not so far away -1hr. I have visited the Le Relec Abby quite a few times and the Mont St Michel chapel on top of the windy hill numerous times (last time there was a group from Sweden recording the sounds of the wind and playing music in the chapel, very surreal).

The scenery of the Monts d'Arrée remind me of my north of England roots.

If you are going to be over at all this summer, send me a PM, maybe we can get together for a cuppa, I'll bring the teabags;-) and camera.

Don't know what your French is like but if you need any help with admin etc, just give me a shout.

It's a nice part of the country up there towards Paimpol. We should be over in September for a couple of weeks but towing a trailer with a Honda Accord Estate I'm afraid, not the XJ8. I towed the Daimler with my old XJ8 and had a brown trouser experience on the M6 because of the weight and soggy rear suspension on the Jag.
I'll let you know nearer the time and you can come and give me some advice. You'll probably need a hard hat too!
If you're French speaking and understand the planning system I think we'll be VERY good friends!
John
