Are there many folks on this forum who have interest in the Series III Lumps? I have a 84 XJ6 with a Chevrolet LTI and 4L60E automatic in it that never got completed due damaged A pillar plus i got side tracked on with my 05 XJR. I picked up a nice 83 XJ6 with bad transmission, Dented Hood Grill and Left fender with 80K miles on it that will be my upcoming fall winter project. Have a T56 6speed transmission and will be getting a 5.3 LS next. I used to be a Parts Manager at Blackhorse Motors years ago and remember the 83 XJ6 coming in for service. It been around the area since new and the body is very solid with a little paint bubbling around the windshield. I hope to sell the Dayton wires to recoup my cost in the car.
Nice looking car as a base to start with. The wheels actually look good to my eye, but like you I wouldn't want to live with them. Good luck with your project.
LS swapper checking in here. You're going to love the new powertrain. Feel free to ask any questions pertaining to the project, I have just about wrapped mine up. Be sure to post your progress!
I was going to ask you about headers but I see in your signature, 1984 XJ6 6.0 LS Turbo in progress. Where are you mounting the turbo as i have thought about this as well.

Wooford XJR
I have a whole thread detailing the build. Long story short the turbo is up front on the passenger side, but you can really mount it wherever there is room.
Your Jaguar looks two tone. I was considering two tone on mine XJ6C when I was orginally painting it - Black on top and dark maroon/burgundy on the bottom. Got a few more pics of yours?

I was a partsamanager at the local Jaguar dealer back in the Early 90s and remember the car coming in for service back then. It had rhe two tone paint then. The car got wrecked damaging the hood and left fender around the headlight so it's gonna need some paint work eventually. I will more than likely paint it dark gray all over. I have a gray leather interior for it. It's parked in the garage and has a bad transmission. So it won't be moved until I am ready to pull the drive train. Attached is a pic of my 1984 with the LTI motor. It's gonna get drivetrain removed and body scrapped.
Also is a pick of the best use I have found for old BW 66 transmissions.
This is Andrew from Jaguar Specialties and we have been doing LS into the Jag S1-2-3 models since 2008 (some 15 years now). We've used all sorts of different LS engines in these cars as well as a wide variety of transmissions, including the 6 sped manuals. Short story- we have the conversion worked out, top to bottom, and offer parts packages for projects like this.
Also, BTW, we make the manual pedal boxes, drop-in, ready to install as a regular item. You'll probably be looking for one of those sooner or later. Attached is a pic of one of our units, complete with new Wilwood clutch master cylinder
Thought I would provide an update, Motor and 6speed has been fitted. Now all the other details need to be worked out, Clutch pedal is 90% Done, Need a set of LS Headers for exhaust, All engine accessories. I should be busy this fall and winter.
