I changed the fuel pump on my 1987 XJ6 this weekend. The new pump is working well but on close inspection of the original fuel lines in the trunk, I can see that one of the hoses is starting to degrade and has already developed a small leak that over time has stained the panel underneath the spare tire.
It could just be age but the ethanol in the fuel these days may also be a contributor. For safety reasons, I would like to replace all the high and low pressure side fuel line hoses in the trunk and maybe in the front as well.
I'm wondering if there is a kit out there or maybe a good recommendation for hoses that hold up well to the modern fuels which may be going to even higher percentages of ethanal in the near future.

At 35 years it's a fair bet that age is the primary factor. Jaguar cars of that era were E10 compatible so presumably (heh heh) appropriate hose was used.
For the engine bay hoses any "fuel injection" grade hose from the local auto parts store will suffice. The brand doesn't matter. You'll need (from memory) 3/8 and 5/16 sizes. Besides the feed and injector hoses don't forget the return hoses which come off the regulator and go to the fuel cooler
One small section of return hides at the front of the cylinder head and is often missed.
For the hoses in the trunk I suggest marine grade hose, spec J1527 A1-10 or A1-15. The is thick walled, ultra low permeation hose which will help prevent gasoline odors in the trunk. Most of the plumbing here requires 1/2" ID hoses but the vent lines in the area of the package tray are 1/4 and/or 5/16 as I recall.
I just ordered all of the hoses to do just this. Buy SAE J1527 Standard A1-15. This is very low permeable hose designed for marine applications where fuel vapors are more deadly than those in our trunks. The 7/16" hose doesn't need to be injection rated as it only supplies the pumps with fuel from the tanks, all the other lines need to be injection rated.
I found all of mine on Amazon. I did have to buy more than what is needed, but still not overly expensive
The hoses I ordered off Amazon all came nicely packaged with the hose size marked on each baggie. All except the 7/16" hose, but that came from a separate vender.

Are these hoses all Low Permeability ones? I'm having a heck of a time sourcing these items, especially the 1/2" one. Can you post the amazon links if its not too much to ask? I'm sure lots of us would appreciate such a listing. I have all the hardware - new pre filters, FI clamps, shut-offs etc., but having trouble with the hoses. Ian
Yes, all of these except the 7/16" hose are SAE J1527 low permeable hose. The 7/16" hose is low permeable, but not rated for the higher pressure as required for fuel injection as it only supplies fuel from the tank to the pumps and does not need to be high pressure. You will be buying more hose than you will need as I couldn't find where you could buy each of these by the foot.
I picked up low perm hose at a local store called West Marine, I don't if they are a chain store, but marine applications call for this class of hose. They sell by the foot.
