Default Speedometer

Is there an hidden inline fuse for the speedometer? I swapped transducer and speedometer. It worked a month ago.

If you have an XJ6 S3, look at fuse #4 in the main panel which is just to the left of the steering wheel behind the lower dash panel, there's a small access door. Both speedo and transducer work from that fuse.

No.

Do you have a trip computer and, if so, is it registering miles?

Default 1983 series 3

Yes, I am sorry it is for a xj6 series 3 1983 with a trip computer. The computer is not reading speed either.

Well, the speedometer and the trip computer both take their reading from the transducer. If the fuse is OK...always check that first..... I'd suspect a broken connection somewhere along the line

Fuse #4 also supplies the other gauges (tacho, oil pressure, volt meter, temp & fuel) so if the fuse were defective these other gauges would also not register.

Default Working now

I hit a bump in the road and speedo and the trip computer started working. Will have to chase the wiring and grounds. Thanks for your ideas.
