Stupid people rant.
Definitely not as egregious, butI would say over the last 40 years about half or more of the people I talk to when driving my TR6 ask me what year my MGB is. Ugh!
Of course a lot of people don't know what my XJ6 ser1 is at all.

Ugh, again, I lost a good post !! Short version !!
At market yesterday, Jaguar's turn. Older lady to me. "That is a really nice old car.". I responded. with a simple thanks...

I'm thinking you people must live among Very, um, klooless people.
Whenever I take Nix to town, people know Instantly, That's a Jaguar!
In fact, more than one (everyone from 12 to 75) has said, "That's when Jaguars were Really Jaguars!"
Sometimes I'm quite surprised how young some Classic Jaguar fans are.

A couple of decades ago, I read a piece on line by an automotive journalist. Keene strike me. It was a "break down" of the then current model. A bit down on the loss of identity. I sent the best picture I had in my cache of mine at the time. She kindly responded,. "Now, that is a Jaguar" !!! Priceless....

Many young folks have zero, or only vague, knowledge that a Jaguar automobile even exists. The oh-so-commonplace Audis and BMWs are a different matter, of course.
Recently, though, I was pleased when a gas station attendant, a cheerful young lady of 20 or so, got a little enthused about my car. "WOW, is that an old Jaguar? Oh my God. They really are beautiful". Granted, she may have merely been looking for a tip....which I always give attendants anyway.

Calling it a BMW may have been an intentional effort to needle you a bit

Some of the fellows I work with always refer to my car as a "Jagwire". They know it isn't the correct pronunciation. They're just trying to irritate me. I remain silent, refusing to give them any satisfaction
