Default Success on stripping paint off Kents

I used Aircraft Remover paint stripper made by Kleen Strip. This is the blue can. I have used this stuff for over 20 years and always have some on hand. I globbed it on and let it sit about 15 minutes. That's all it took. I used a piece of 0000 steel wool and scrubbed lightly then rinsed. It was clean aluminum but there was a few spots of corrosion. I used a piece of red scotch brite and scuffed in the same direction as the factory mill lines and it cleaned off the corrosion. I used some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish on a rag and it started bringing out a luster. Going to get a new Powerball and hit it hard. My old powerball fell apart from dry rot. This is just one wheel but wanted to do a test.

I've a set of 4 decent Kents in my "old office". Why, I've not the slightest!

I am more than pleased with the Lattice 7's now on the car.

This is just a rubbing by hand. I'll get a power tool on it with polish and it should shine a bit more. Need to go buy a Mothers power ball.

Well, not quite!!!

Unless sealed, they will corrode quickly. I have a rattle can on my shelf for that. I use it as a clear coat on other stuff.

Thanks for sharing the products and method. I normally have a dislike for the Kents up to the point of "what were they thinking", but seeing them in their native metal finished nicely has changed my mind. Looks very good.
