Default The Upcoming Project

Sorry for worrying you whiles you are having a peace of mind in the Covid-19 Lockdown.

Just listing down plans toward the next body works on this queen.

Beneath the rear glass there are rust and body area has loose contact with glass or the chrome, whichever.

My question is, do I have to remove/detach the rear glass during this project phase?
Is it ease to remove and refix without any trouble?
how about the windshield, is it easy to remove and refix?

Zoom to see

I don't see any way to properly repair the rust without removing the glass. You need to remove the glass just to properly evaluate the extent of the rust.

My experience is limited but the glass can be cut out with windshield wire. Cut out the bright metal trim first, with a utility knife, and be gentle. Don't try to force it out. It deforms very easily.

Cheers

DD, the "bright metal trim" you mean the chrome on the Glass?

The rust around the windscreens (front and rear) are exactly like icebergs. What you see is only about 10% of what is there. The glass is not overly hard to take out, it's best to have two people though. My wife and I used the "wire cutting" method and it went well, just treat the glass like it was made out of glass. Here are a few pictures of what I found when I removed my glass. The wet stuff in picture #4 is the rust converter I've used to stop the rusting process (so far, so good).

I got mine thru the local auto parts store. Just Google "Windshield Removal Wire" or similar
