Default V12; remove manifold/downpipe sealing ring

Hi all
I managed to get the downpipes off. The sealing ring between the manifold and downpipe is stuck in the down pipe. Do you have any tricks how to remove them?
Thanks
/Marcus

I would use a Propane torch on High. They are shot anyway.

I often use a propane torch in conjunction with [whatever brand] rust-breaker spray product. The heat always seems to help the penetrating oil work.

You could also use a small cutting tool (like a Dremel) to slice thru the rings, or a chisel

However.....

Those rings slide over a sleeve which is not very well anchored into the manifold and not very robust....so some caution is needed

Cheers

I've used a hammer to pound a screwdriver of small chisel between the sealing ring and the shoulder on the pipe. The rings need to be replaced, so it doesn't matter if they are destroyed on removal. Or an angle grinder to make a gap and then lever then remains off.
