Default Warning light

Hello. Double Six V12 1990. New to the group. The mechanic replaced my air filters because he previously installed the wrong ones. After replacing the filters, the red sign illuminates on the dashboard! What could have gone wrong?

Which red light is illuminated? Can you post a photo of this? The V12 for different markets had differing warning lights and for some markets, none at all.

The red light at the bottom is obviously for a seat belt not fastened. The top light is for the Parking brake. The other brightly illuminated light is for the hydraulic brake system. The other is for the battery.

There seems to be some transfer of light from one bright bulbs to other lights. None of these lights have any direct relationship with the air intake through the filters.

Do you have the owner’s manual for this car? This lighting display appears to be different from that used in the Canadian V12 saloons; which was the country this car was first sold in? I note that you are in Poland.

Check the master cylinder cap. It has a switch to turn on the warning light if the brake fluid level gets too low. Maybe the wires at the switch were disturbed while wrestling with the air filter. Those filters can be a challenge; it's not entirely unreasonable to think that the wires got knocked around a little by an elbow or forearm.

Cheers

Hi. Thanks for your reply. The photo is a bit misleading because only in the photo did it come out that other icons are lit. Only this one is lit!. The car was imported from Japan. Until yesterday everything was OK. The mechanic gave me the car back, after replacing the air filters, with the warning light already on. I know it can't be related but they must have broken something in the process. Too much of a coincidence.

Hi. Are you talking about the brake fluid reservoir and the level sensor on it? I have two wires (slides) but I don't see any switch.

Yes, the cap of the reservoir incorporates a float switch. The wire should plug into the cap, or a bit of loom coming out of the cap.

Hi. I went under the car today. I started it up. The exclamation mark was still on. I lifted the hood and removed the level sensor cover. I found a loose piece of plastic there. I wiggled the cables from the level sensor and surprisingly the exclamation mark disappeared. However, I wonder what kind of plastic was under the rubber cover of the brake fluid level sensor.
