Default Windows won't roll

So I read somewhere that jag electrics when not used stop working, I'm having that issue. The car has been laid up in the garage for a few months so I haven't moved the windows. Now, they won't move at all. Not up, not down. Just a click from under the dash from the thermal relay.

Anyone had this issue? Any recommendations where to start?

if the sunroof doesn't work either, you might have turned the Master Switch OFF.

Yes, all windows are not working and I don't have a sun roof. Now, I did have to pull out the dash to rip out some aftermarket alarm system (stupid) and I think a power line may have been tied into the switch panel, but it doesn't look like I'm missing any wires to the panel.

Is there voltage at the master switch? If not, they ain't gonna work.

1. Jump the switch. It can get corroded inside. Not hard to remove, take apart, clean and reassemble.

2. Jump 12 v to the master? Work back to the source of power. More than likely a white power wire. White is powered only with ignition on.

3. Wild shot; Is the ignition on, when you try a window? Must be to work.

Carl, where is the master switch? And yes, the car was one when I tried.

The master for windows only is on the console, I think. Mine is, but my car is later, an 83 XJ wuzza six.

Do you have an owners manual? The documents are crucial.

I am about to sit at the table and peruse mine!!

Default Window Master Switch On Ski Slope

This is the Master Window Switch.
There are only 2 wires to it, a simple On/Off switch, unless someone repurposed it in the past.

I don't have a master switch in mine. And no, no owners manual. I'm going to need a new window motor for the front drivers side...may or may not have made a rookie mistake and broke it. Easily sorced though. On the upside, after cleaning the control switches, I have back lighting to my gauges. Still have many connections to clean and grease so will see if that helps.

those window motors are GM, at least in the Series 3 they are, you might pull them from 1980's GM cars.

Yup, they came in the 66 corvette too so I can get a remaned unit. That isn't the problem though I don't think as all of the other windows still arent working. Even with a switch clean and regrease.
