Wire wheels installation issue!

Wire wheels installation issue!
Hello,
This is my first post and I'm already requiring your help
I have a 1977 XJC 4.2 with black and chrome 15" wheels.
I just bought MWS bolt on wire wheels, pretty much the same as Dayton!
My question is how can I adapt these bolt on wheels to my actual wheel support? 5 lug, 120,6mm, I think 4,75”!
Do I need special lug nuts or do I have to install these kind of adapters?
Kind regards,
Ya

If you purchased the correct wheels for your car, you should not need any adapters. MWS makes a wheel for pre-1994 XJ vehicles that should fit fine. They supply the appropriate lug nuts (and wrench) according to their site. If you did not get the nuts since you bought the wheels used, check with the seller to see if they have them. Otherwise buy a set of nuts from MWS to make sure they are correct.
The main thing is to use nuts with the correct seat for the wheels. The seat area is the contact surface where the nut pushes against the wheel and it must be the same contour on both the nut and wheel. There are nuts with a spherical shape seat, flat seat, and conical.
The MWS site does not say, and I don't know what they use, so get the MWS ones or take one of the wheels to a local tire store and show them so they can find an appropriate lug nut for you.
Here is the page I found, and I assume these are the wheels you bought:

Hello Bbarcher,
Thank you very much for your explanation. I'm already in contact with MWS and they send me today a test lug nut which fits the new XW715C!
According to them, the wheels I have found are very old, model XW741 and they are not available anymore, It looks like 715 but are 7" inches wide.
Here is a picture of the received lug nut and the bolt delivered with the wheels.
My question to MWS is:
The nut seat, diameter and thread dimensions are perfect BUT the lug is only grabbing the stud over 1cm maximum !!!!
Is it enough to keep the wheels close to the car?
The actual shank is 25mm, I would be able to fix a 35mm shank, are they available?
CHeers,

According to the SAE, minimum thread engagement distance is equal to the diameter of the lug stud. So, yes, you need a longer stud or a nut with a longer shank. I would think a longer stud is preferable.
Dorman is a supplier of lug studs (and other parts); they may have what you need, but I don't have a part number to recommend. You may be better off going to a wheel/tire store and asking them to find 35mm studs. I don't know for certain if anyone makes the 35mm stud to fit a Jag.
Hopefully MWS can help you.
