Default XJ12C; Removing IRS: Stuck propshaft(?)

Hi to you all and greetings from Switzerland =)
XJ12C 1976:
I am removing the complete rear suspension, I got everything loose and lowered the complete IRS slowly. BUT; Propshaft is stuck to differential.... (screws are removed).
Question: Is the prop shaft fixed with more than then 4 screws? How do I get it loose? I didnt want to use to much violence until I get some tips from you all =)
Thx
Marcus

Should be just the 4 bolts. The flanges are probably rusted together.

Most companion-flange arrangements have a slight 'interlocking' aspect to their castings; a very slight ridge on one flange engaging an equivalent slot on the other, often circular and concentric. A good place for rust to take hold.

Get a little more violent Or arrange a long pry-bar thru the u-joint opening to lever the flanges apart

Cheers
DD

Just give the flange a wack with a dead blow hammer.

Hi
Thanks for quick answer… That did it.. A little (actually quite a lot) of violence worked well.
