I know in looking at many pictures posted here in our forum, I'm always taken back a bit at how rusted many of them are underneath. I think I got lucky with mine coming from a cold area where they salt the roads in winter. Then driving in Utah where they do the same. Living in Colorado for 30+ years was different, salt can only be used on I-70. All other roads they use mag chloride.

You can also buy fluid film in larger bulk (again, an old ranch boy here) and using a conventional sprayer, coat the entire undercarriage of any car. It stops rust on contact and prevents it reoccurring.

On the ranch/farm, we used a weed sprayer to do it, lol.

I sorta figured many people may have never heard of or been exposed to fluid film. So here's a link to FAQ about it. No plastic, rubber (in fact rehabilitated it), paint damage. Works great on work boots, too. Environmental friendly. It says to not use a pump sprayer but we always did.

@ iownme - by any chance, are you replacing the center support bearing? mine is wearing out but still have some life in it and when I searched the web, it looks like a job I would send the car to the shop to replace it as I dont have the proper tools to do it, Ive done full shaft replacement before but not the bearing alone. Ive already ordered a genuine bearing from the dealer, if you are going to do something like this, would appreciate if you take some photos and post back.
