XJ6 Air Flow Meter

Hi Marke,
The actual unit has the same part number in Australia and US (EAC3821)
That doesn't mean that the setting aren't different though
There are a couple of suppliers in Melbourne who have second hand / reco units which are cheaper than new
They may even have changeover deals?
Jag Prestige in Ringwood
Jag Ayre in Cheltenham
JagDaim in Moorabbin
Keep in mind the unit is bulky, so postage won't be cheap from US
Also, if there is a problem, back to base is a long way away
Cheers,
Nigel

No worries. If the settings were different, the part number would be different....such as the EAC3820 which is listed for the 'other' countries

Hi Marke,
I know that if you take your xj6 - assuming it is driving OK - to either Jag Ayre or Jag Prestige, they will probably let you fit a second hand unit on their premises to see if the Air Flow Meter is the culprit.
Just as long as you do the right thing and spend some money with them if yours is found to be faulty.
Ring them first and have a chat, they may even diagnose something else entirely.
At least if your AFM is OK, you wont have an unnecessary spare part on hand if you have sourced one from the US just to find this out
Cheers,
Nigel

Jag-o-nomic has a good idea, although I have an extra one that has a sligtht hiccup. the flapper drags ever so slightly, and causes a little problem when your starting it after it gets warmed up. I will send it to you for postage if your intersted. I can't find it in my heart to toss it and if I could give it to someone else, I'd feel better about parting with it.
