Default 1988 xjs floor pans make or buy?

Well my dumm*** left my jag outside this year instead of storing it inside the garage so my drivers floor is gone might as well replace the whole pan from brake pedal too the passengers feet . I am a fabricator so should i just cut out and replace it with the same guage steel and make a few braces from replicating the previous floor pans? I have acess too the metal brake. Or could I possibly make a few braces or an x brcae and fiber glass it (iknow I'll be seeing a few flying stones for saying that).

if you can do all that fantastic metal working stuff, then I say make them and weld them in. Forget the glass fibre. Even OE pans are available still, but a heavier gauge metal DIY sounds damn good to me! And then do the other side!

SNG Barratt has them for $142.20 (and we get a 10% discount off that price). It is the entire Left floor pan, from under the accelerator, to the front of the rear seat, and includes part of the transmission tunnel. I bought a right hand floor panel from them. It comes primed in a weld through primer, and is a quality product.

I used the side out of an old washing machine to repair my MGB floor pan; worked a treat.

You bought a whole washing machine just to make a floor pan? Was it a high-end, front-load, stain-less steel washer? That's dedication!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist, it's the first thought that popped into my head when I read your message.)

Rear underneath where the radius arm each side is bolted to the monocoque.
