Default 1988 XJS Vacuum Regulator

I own a 1988 XJS V12. I recently found that the vacuum
regulator had a crack and therefore had to be replaced. The
part number is EAC 5157 and I have been informed by several
parts dealers that this part is no longer available from the
factory. I live In Honduras and as far as I know there are no used Jaguar parts available here.
Is there any other part I can substitute this one for?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Vacuum regulator for the transmission?

A generic, adjustable, aftermarket vac regulator for any "400" trans will work.

Never mind.

Sorry.

I see what you want is the vacuum regulator for the vacuum advance system. I'm no help on that one. Maybe post a 'wanted' ad in the classifieds section?

Cheers

The best thing to do, in my view, is to remove the whole sorry mess of vac tubes, solenoids, valves etc, and replace them with ONE tube from the small take off beneath the A bank throttle body to the vac capsule on the dizzy.

At the same time (if a Lucas ignition) remove the two wires from the A bank rear water manifold temp switch, insulate each end and tie them off somewhere. Result = no discernable chnage and a much better simpler setup. I did this on the recommendation of the JEC expert the Great Marks about 12 years ago.
