I have a bunch of these. Read about them in a thread on the forum. They fit the coils perfectly. I believe the gauge is even a bit thicker than what I have. A safe replacement, ya think?
My A coil plug (gold yellow stripe) is messy, cracked insulation, wire appears to be intact. The B bank, wires are fine but the male shaft of the plug itself has seen better days.
If they fit Ok, no reason not to use them, but be sure that the wires to the loom are in the correct order.
Also, JJJ, if you have cracked coils connectors, you must change them ASAP.

I do... They are brittle, and cracked, and I am sure that's how the tab in the OE coil was bent over - missing the slot in a cracked connector. This last round of fiddling only made things worse. I plan on grabbing my heat gun, shrink tube and connectors and doing this tonight after work.
It was foolish of me to be running that car around with such a messy set up. There are maybe 2 or 3 places where a small ignition electrical storm could have stalled out the car at 75mph...
It's amazing. At first,,, the work that needed doing needed doing with large tools, hammers and fire. Now, as time goes on, the work is getting more and more detailed. Cruise control, AC, speedometer and all involved with reading the speed - all on the list. It's gunna be interesting.
If one of your Injectors isn't/wasn't working or your Ignition system is faulty, it could lead to a Carbon build it which could increase the Compression in that Cylinder, which if left unchecked could (in extreme circumstances!) either start melting or blowing a hole in your Piston!

OB, the poor guy spends half his time fretting about the car as it is! I think this is something he need not worry about, more likely the excess fuel has washed the combustion chamber clean!

Hmm. Wasn't fretting. It was something I caught, and glad I did. Surprised I did actually, especially since these are my first significant drives after 2+yrs of work to bring a car that sat for 12yrs back from the dead.... I'm surprised (and a little proud of myself) that I noticed 1 out of 12 cylinders misfiring, on a computer-less car that I am unfamiliar with, blowing unburned fuel into a hot exhaust system.. Definitely had a bad/dead cylinder. Now I don't. Discovered (with help) it was a cracked cap on one of the fuel injectors. Replaced it along with dizzy, rotor, both coils and coil plugs. All needed and overdue. Problem solved.
Now, top of the engine off, between road trips, to deal with a near dangerous set of top end oil leaks where so much oil is running down the lengths of the exhaust pipes, smoking, near burning. Not fretting there either. It's needed work I now know after the first 400miles.
Then, got a new black fan to replace the exploding 30yo yellow fan. Needed. And,,, a creature comforts AC compressor came in and I found a guy to fab me some tubes and hoses.
In the mean time,,, rehabbing an 86 Porsche 928 that sat for 6 yrs,,, and a Jag XKR Supercharged Portfolio that's sat for 4,,, she went underwater (fresh) in Texas...
Need help with alllll.

Please do not take this as a criticism of you! It was teasing OB for thinking the worst unnecessarily. I for one, am full of admiration for how you are going about sorting out the car. My sincere apologies if you took my post as a dig at you. The forum is exactly for guys, like us all, who to begin with knew nothing about the cars.
