1995 xjs cylinder replacement
My car has been shuttering and jumping with it is cold, My mechanic said that it was a cylinder, but, he couldn't tell which one it was until it shuttered for him. After driving my car 20 miles today, (??)------- I was charged for 2 cylinder replacements. A lot of $$$. Is this right? It was for the cylinder coils on two cylinders. The other four are still a question.

I think you mean ignition coils! Yes, they are a known failure point. The only ones I would use are the ones made by Diamond in Japan, SNG Barratt USA sells them as they are the OEM coils. Everything else ( including what you can buy from a Jaguar dealer now) is junk and won't last long.
The part number is LHE1510AB# (the # is very important!) https://www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/Eng...8-617ea71443cb
These coils are also used on the X300 sedans, there is a long thread about their failures on the X300 forum.
Another thought is these cars are also sensitive to spark plugs. Only use the original Champions, the plain copper plugs. No fancy plugs, just the cheap Champions. Surprisingly ,it does make a noticeable difference.

Dangit jaguarforums! Why do you lure me into posting on old threads with your ‘related post’ tricks?! They are never more than randomly related anyway. When does this feature come in handy?
