Default Blower motor repair - XJS 1993

Hi! My USAF adventure was from 1966 - 1969. Really had fun. Really. . .

I was a Ground Radio repair tech. But, I really worked on anything that had knobs, speakers, microphones and antennas. In a plane or on the ground.
Most of my fun was at Shemya AFS, Alaska and Eglin AFB Field#9
(Hurlburt Field - aka: Herbies Airpatch). I saw a lot of Quad-4 radar units
and I was impressed by the abuse they took and still functioned.
I didn't deal with much standard USAF stuff or personnel.

A lot of duct tape and bags of transistors/tubes and a "7 level" screwdriver
could fix a lot!
It really comes in handy when dealing with Jags and divining what Lord Lucas
was trying to do with the car besides turn it into a toaster.

Cold out there on the chain. While you were basking in the cold, i was up in the Banana Belt at Kodiak. My faviorite assignment was four years at RAF Bovingdon in the UK. Lived with the RAF guys and was considered their Tamed Yank. Beautiful country and people! Learned to eat beans on toast for breakfast and that all time favorite Marmite! Better end here the moderator will get upset.

My last post on this subject: Blower installed and working fine. Air temp moves from hot to cold automatically. Speed of blower correct on settings. Have used a synthetic refrigerant for over six months and it is cold. Installation of blower frustrating due to location behind the dash. Also installation guide in this forum is very good reference for all cars but it is specifically geared to earlier models. On later models the blower bracket was change and makes installation easier. Pillows under head and back helps. No need to remove seat, but might make installation more comfortable. Suggest second person in car to handle tools, parts and provide check list from above cited Guide.

Replaced the Darlington transistor with a NTE2349 and found the case of the transistor gets very hot. Is this normal for this transistor? I think I read that the transistor is mounted so it is in the blower steam and is cool that way? Is that correct???
