Default 87 XJS security code for radio

I have the code but how do you enter it? I know you use the radio presets to enter the numbers but do I have to hold down the eject button and the PTY button to get to where i can enter a code? Can someone tell me the steps to unlocking the radio.

No special tricks. Key on, radio on, enter the five digits. That's it.

Cheers

Default Still dont get it

What happens if a # in my code is a 0. I only have 5 presets and some of my code goes higher than 5. What do I do then?

Not sure about the "0". I think you have the wrong code.

At any rate, after so many failed attempts the system won't allow further entries for a period of time...60 minutes, I think.

Cheers

The code should be on a little business card sized paper titled "Secirity Radio code". On my '87 I just enter the code (which all numbers are 1-5, i.e. 11255) and it unlocks. You may be able to find the code somewhere else but that is my experience with the subject.

I have heard that you can find the code based on the radio's serial number but that involves taking it out. I would look into that if you are interested in keeping the original radio. Personally I like to keep things all original.
