Default 94 2+2 Roof won’t power up or down rear windows work fine...

My 94 2+2 rear windows move up and down with top up/down switch fine. Main top won’t go up nor down. I figured it might be a fluid issue in the pump, but cannot determine how to add fluid. The pump reservoir is solid and there doesn’t seem to be a way to get into the thing to check nor even add fluid. Does anyone have an idea how to address this? It just ceased working about a week ago.

thank you for the help this is an awesome forum, and much respect to all you great folks!

A pic of the pump. If you have low fluid then you have a leak. Look behind the 2 side panels at the hydraulic rams. Not visible is the fuse on the left side. DO NOT be tempted to use a normal fluid. It requires a lighter type. If you need to, the top can be operated manually by turning the black valve handle show in the photo below.

Yes, thank you! I have been operating it manually and while that is fine for me, it’s a bit much for the wife. The pump reservoir unlike yours, has no notation on it where to add the fluid, nor do I know how to check it, because it’s all A solid opaque pump body. Some are only plastic you can see through somewhat and see that it is low. Odd part here as well, I have no leaks, so I’m also leaving open the possibility it could be electrical problem as well. The passenger side windows do great, but no top power. I’m guessing from your pic that the hole above your “passenger side windows” relays is where to add fluid if needed?

also, since you’re a veteran member, what would be your preferred repair manual type? I am good with some minor to medium level of self-work, but the real specialty stuff I will leave to someone bonded, with GL insurance. 👍🏻
