Well, I'm just over a year into my ambitious new hobby with my 1992 Jaguar XJS. What started as simply replacing the front sub-assembly kept expanding to include oil cooler, gaskets, radiator, and refresh (not a complete rebuild) of the steering rack.
Although I worked hard to make notes and take pictures...I'm looking at the cylinder in this picture and can't seem to recall where I found it. For context, it was with my steering rack pile; however, those items in the tray behind it are from the lower wishbone setup...So general area is front sub-assembly.....
I'm wondering whether anyone here might possess the insane gift of "hey, I know that is X".
Anyways, long shot I know....on a positive note I feel like I'm on the home stretch.
The tube/cylinder looks like it could be the inner that goes inside the front subframe mounting bush to size it properly for the bolt. But there would be two, one each side. But if the subframe is still mounted, it can't be that!
