Default aircon help

I have removed the l.h. vent cover and found 2 vacuum pipes not connected
a blue one and a white one with an elbow on it according to the book they come off of this vacuum solenoid I can see where the blue one goes but what appears to be a broken pipe next to it there is no hole for vac to pass can anyone advise where the white one with the elbow goes or does the white one have another purpose? please
according to the part book it goes on the end but nothing appears damage there and there is no decent size receptive for it

The white tube is the vac 'feed' from the manifold via the reservoir, to the system, according to my schematic. I have a PDF of the Delanaire Mk II that I found years ago, it is pretty clear. If you would like a copy, pm me with your email and I'll send it.

I went round to grubloggers today and picked up a new 2nd hand vac switch for a score, fitted it with silicone connectors and it now makes even more proper noises whirring and flaps shutting etc. as I twist the controls, I will take it out Friday and see if the new 134a is now doing its job.

Could you further explain exactly which component you switched, please?

just the vac switch and the elbow and straight connector (that accepts the vac pipes) with silicone, the rubber type had past there sbd, that's all working fine now its the rest, so ordered new compressor from euros, txv and drier, all 134 compatible parts from fenair
