Default anyone else got these

New owner to xjs I have a 1991 pre facelift v12 and wondered what these no. mean on the windows.

That security warning sticker is a warning to you... electrical troubles are coming your way! The factory security system doesn’t last forever, so if you don’t disconnect it, learn as much about it as you can now before it goes wrong. Mine all went wrong one day and the car wouldn’t start. Had to bypass it.

The numbers are your VIN. The factory didn’t do that, but it’s not unusual to have VIN etched in the glass.

My XJ8 had them. Wasn't a big problem...

The windows might have been changed but 198299 isnt the last 6 characters of a 91 XJS.

Yes,198XXX is way too new. Are those the only numbers/letters there?

Huh. I had to read that thread carefully and do some research to figure out what was going on. I've seen a lot of posters in other forums with "Banned" by their names just for kicks, and so when you noted he wasn't here, and I went back and read again, I didn't immediately assume he actually was banned (this isn't exactly a controversial forum, after all). Then I had to work out why he was banned. And who this chap "Kin Jobsworth" was. And then I got it. Finally....
Let's hope long-term exposure to a V12 XJS will allow him to grow and mature....
